i have offered to help my girlfriends mams boyfriend find a African Grey.
i have mentioned re-homing but he insists he wants a baby.

so i am wondering if you know of any breeders close to me as he does not drive.
i live in Whitby, North Yorkshire.

so Debbie might be the one to help me on this as she lives closest i think.

i need to get some more details off him first, like how much he is willing to pay and the furthest distance he can travel. and most importantly how educated he is about owning a Grey.

we aren't sure when he would be able to get one and its not 100% that he is getting one yet, as he doesn't know how it will get on with his 14year old cockatiel.

I got mine from Huddersfield West Yorkshire, not sure how far away it is from Whitby but its certainly not a long way away, if you want any details let me know and i can pass them on to you.

Not sure if Whitby is up or down from me, my geogaphy is appalling but Leeds is about 20 miles down from me.

It is always a gamble, Pete whether different birds will get on with each other or not. Mine don't, my cockatiel keeps coming to my grey but he just wants to bite the cockatiel, so they have to walk in turns. But I have heard recently of a few cockatiels and greys living in peace together. One way or the other, this friendship always has an element of danger, a grey can potentially kill a cockatiel with its strong beak Sad
Maybe your friend should consider a smaller parrot, like a conure or a caique, they are all lovely and just as joyful to have as Greys, and sometimes even more as they ate not as prone to psychological problems Rolling Eyes
