mmmm.... well i have just this second been offered another grey for free Neutral owner doesn't have the time for it with work and everything. he/she is plucking at the moment (due to boredom i presume)

now i really want to take it, but i dont know if i can, not sure if i have the room. and how billy would react to a second one, as at the moment billy has me all to himself. i know it would be good for them to keep each other company <---- so theres a positive to it.

i arnt after another grey, but i want to take it off them.

they said 2 people are going to look at the grey, to see if they want it, but i have a feeling its more for novelty and "hey look i have a parrot" than anything else Crying or Very sad

just be careful pete, i was going to do the same thing a while ago, but after talking to sandi i decided not to,
1 you have to have the time for both as individuals
2 billy may get jealous
3 you do need lots of room, with a cage large enough for them both , if i remember tfrom the pics your doesnt look big enough for 2
and 4 if you didnt want a second baby in the first place why now ?? confused

thanks carol.

i know the cage is not big enough, but it comes with its own cage i think so they would be seperate
i will have the time for them both

The billy might get jealous part is the part that bothers me.
it not a baby, i arnt sure how old it is, but it gets no attention at all and has started plucking because of it, so instead of helping it they just want to give it away.

^ thats whats making me want to take it, because i can make it a happy parrot (hopefully) as we live in such a small town, it would be extremely difficult to find some one who wants it for the right reasons.

i havnt decided yet , i wanna go see it first. and think it through properly.

that is a tuff one, pete...it is hard to see the birdy in a bad state, as well as the 'free' offer! ...be sure to keep billy in mind at all times, he's doing so well lately! ...and what if you got a new job or something? ...would you still have time for both?...yes, sandi recommended for carol not to do it, but on the other hand, debbie seems to have no problems having two...if it were me (but our situations are different, of course) i personally would take the bird...i am sure you'll make the right decision, let us know!

Well Billy is my main priority,

One of the positive sides is if I do get a job they can keep each other company instead of Billy being alone, which I hate doing.

I wouldn't consider it if it didn't need a better home.
I think I will wait to make sure they havnt already found a home before I make my mind up, as I told them I want to be there last option to consider

pete if you took it built it up you could put it out for adoption, unless you and billy got attached, or could your girlfriend look after it, as she seems keen to share your interest Very Happy

I would go for it, i spoke to a lot of people with more than one grey before i decided to get Bellino, never regretted it and when im busy they still have each other, they also share a double cage as well. I looked after ny friends grey for a week recently and had no problems with 3 of them flying out together except the odd fratch between Bella and Shadow over who was cuddling me! My pony tail took some stick as they were both pulling it off each other! Laughing Laughing Laughing
