PostSubject: night frights   Wed Jun 24, 2009 12:15 pm

Well, when i got up this morning tony (who couldn't settle in bed and went to sleep on the setee) said jasper had some sort of panic/mad flapping during the night,i've been racking my brains all day trying to figure out what could have caused it. There's plenty of light from the street lights so other than car head lights say, flashing by i'm at a loss. Apparantly he's done this before but tony can't remember when. The only other time i can think of is when we had the mild earth tremor, last year sometime?

He has a scratch just under his left nostril too which he must have done during his flapping,i know the f10 will stop it becoming infected but maybe i ought to start taking out his toys at night and just leave the perches.

Poor Jasper, i wouldnt worry too much about it, we all have night frights occasionally, i would think he would be more annoyed about his toys disappearing!!!

are you sure he didnt just fall off his perch?

iv noticed that with billy, sometimes when he's sleeping he looses his balance and falls off his perch, or he nearly falls off his perch and he starts flapping like mad to stay up and it scares the crap outa him because he was asleep.

Can this happen then,if jasper was in a deep sleep? that's worrying as they're supposed to be able to have a tighter grip during sleep.Wasn't sure if he'd woken with a start and a toy had startled him in some way.

i have only ever seen it happen with billy around 2-3 times, whether he has done it more when iv been asleep i dont know.

it will be a rare thing because like you said they have tighter grips for when they are sleeping. but surely its not impossible for it to happen once in a while is it?? confused
i suppose its just like us falling outta bed lol

It has happened to Lulu right after her nails are clipped. It doesn't happen when her nails are long.

Mmmm, jaspers not just had his nails clipped and no i suppose it's not impossible for it to happen. I think if he really did start to lose his balance and wobble about during the day too, then i'd be worried big time.He is generally pretty good at balancing, swinging about, that sort of thing. Smile
